Super Sprints
Sprint cars are the most demanding race car on any track in America today. Successfully racing a sprint car requires a perfect setup, careful planning and lightning fast reactions. Devil’s Bowl is the home of sprint car racing in Texas.
The sprinters have a 16 square foot top wing, and a hard compound right rear tire. These work together to minimize the impact of different horsepower among the competing cars. Methanol (alcohol) is the fuel.
As these cars charge around the track, they reach speeds up to 130 m.p.h. Safety features include five point belts to keep the driver firmly in position, helmets, padded roll cage bars, firesuits and arm restraints.
Charlie Brown won a tightly contested championship in 2007.

Late Models
The late models are shop built race cars and some of the fastest on the track today.
Devil’s Bowl Late Models are also legal to race with the SUPR Late Models. These cars are limited to a 362 cubic inch engine burning methanol for fuel. The Late Models have some of the closest door to door racing of any class.
These cars as well as all others at Devil’s Bowl have a full roll cage and are equipped with some of the finest safety equipment available today.

Limited Modifieds
New to Devil’s Bowl in 2007 this promises to be an exciting class. The cars appear in look’s almost identical to the USA Modifieds but with major engine and chassis difference.
These cars have the same frame only with near stock suspension and engines. These cars have to run a near stock hydraulic camshaft and must pull 12” of vacuum at 1200 RPM’s. This new and affordable open wheel class will
is fun to watch.

Modifieds
For pure side by side racing excitement, the modifieds are hard to beat. These are the largest class of race cars in the nation, with over 300 tracks hosting similar cars each week.
Though the cars run under various sanctioning bodies at different tracks, the rules are very similar making this some of the best racing in the nation. Weekly the modifieds keep fans on their feet with close racing action.
This open wheel class is a sure crowd pleaser and is bringing new drivers and fans to Devil’s Bowl. The action is always wheel to wheel and competitive every night.
Danny Caldwell claimed top honors for this class in 2007 winning another close points battle.


Street Stocks
With what started as an every day driver for some, these cars are transformed into what we call World Class Street Stocks. As an entry level class, all glass, chrome, trim and interior must be removed. Then fitted with a 4 point roll cage and require safety equipment.
These cars are limited to a 368 cubic inch flat top piston engine that came in the make and model car and can burn pump gas or a higher octane racing fuel.
These cars travel around the Devil’s Bowl at speeds averaging 70 m.p.h. in fierce wheel to wheel competition.
2007 saw Johnny Philpot Jr. winning his second track championship.
